How It Works: Your Roadmap to the Right Course
Choosing a course doesn't have to be complicated. Here's a simple step-by-step guide on how Form 4 graduates can interact with the portal to find the perfect match at RVIBS
Sign Up / Log In
Create a free account on the career portal (it's quick and easy). All you need is an email address or phone - your info is safe with us. Once you're in, you're ready to explore!
Take the Interests Quiz
Answer a series of fun, simple questions about what you like, what you're good at, and how you prefer to work. There are no wrong answers! This is a psychometric test designed to assess your strengths and passions. For example, do you enjoy working with computers, helping people, being creative, or fixing things? Tell us in the quiz.
Get Instant Recommendations
Magic happens! Based on your quiz results, the portal's smart AI will match your preferences to careers and courses. You'll see a personalized list of RVIBS programs that fit you. If you indicated you love tech, you might see suggestions like ICT courses; if you love art and beauty, you might get Hairdressing & Beauty program recommendations - and so on. The portal might even surprise you with options you hadn't considered!
Explore Your Matches
Now it's time to dig deeper. For each suggested course, you can read a short description about what you'll learn, the skills you'll gain, and the kind of jobs that course can lead to. Take your time browsing through these course profiles. You can even see why a course was recommended for you (for example, "because you enjoy creative work" or "you have an interest in biology")
Save or Compare
Mark your favorite courses or save them to your profile. The portal lets you compare different programs side by side. Not sure whether to choose Business or ICT? Save both and look at them later, or discuss with someone you trust.
Take the Next Step
Once you feel good about a particular course, the portal guides you on how to enroll at RVIBS. You can click "Apply Now" on your chosen program and it will show you the entry requirements, the campus (e.g. Nakuru, Kericho, etc.), and how to submit your application. If you're still not 100% sure, that's okay! You can also reach out through the portal for career advice, or even retake the quiz if your interests change.
Bonus - Explore Opportunities
The journey doesn't end at enrollment. The career portal also has sections for internships & job opportunities that you can explore once you've started your course. See what internships are available for, say, a journalism student or what entry-level jobs pop up for ICT graduates. It's a great way to motivate yourself by seeing the real-world opportunities ahead (This feature is optional, but many students love to see where their chosen path can lead!)
